I have just started using peachtree and am facing this problem. One example is as follows:

We purchase a certain type of gloves by the dozen. So I would simple enter that in the inventory 1 dozen

But when I sell, I may sell by pair or by dozen.

In my manual register I store the inventory as x doz and x pairs.

Now if I am not mistaken peachtree will only allow me to deduct from my inventory stored in dozens by the dozen

What would the best way be to deal with this.

One way I can think of is to enter it in pairs, but its really inconvenient to check my stock this way because mostly i need to know what it is to the nearest dozen.

What ways can you suggest I deal with this issue. Thanks in advance for your help.

Peachtree Premium Distribution allows you to buy, stock and sell in different Units of Measure. Peachtree Complete and lower versions do not provide this feature so you will have to improvise. Receive the Gloves in Pairs and then setup a second Inventory Assembly Item for Gloves - Dozen, where you can then define a Bill of Materials listing 12 Pairs to make 1 Dozen.

Or using the feature Inventory Adjustment, diminish your Inventory Item - Gloves (Dozens) and then increase the Inventory Item - Pairs by the appropriate quantity. So you will have two Inventory Items, one for Dozens and one for Pairs.
