I have Peachtree 2007 Premium accounting package ( one user). I bought a new computer and want to transfer this program and files. I tried to install it but it won't load. Can it be done?

You did not state what version of Windows that is installed on the new computer. If the new computer is using Windows 7 then Peachtree 2010 SR1 and newer are compatible.
When transfering data files, the best method is to create a current data backup on the original computer and then perform a RESTORE using the installed Peachtree program on the new computer. Choose to restore the backup as a New Company and select both Data Files and Custom Forms.

I don't know about 2007 but I am in the process of doing a move of 2009 to a new computer. I am putting 2009 Premium on a Windows 7 64-bit computer and it installed correctly. I did have my S/n and registration codes from the install on the old computer - put it the code for Peach Tree and it said I was registered. Put your registration code in for Tax Tables before doing a download of updates (I did not and tech support had to send me the current tax tables in a file - but it does work now). -- I did a backup with archives for all companies and restored them on the new computer. Just waiting for the accountant to verify that the number are right.

You will find a few features in Peachtree 2009 that do NOT work in Windows 7 such as e-mail.
