View Full Version : Downgrade Quantum 2007 to 2009 Complete?

I have been keeping my own small CPA firm's books on Quantum 2007, and it still fills my needs EXCEPT for 2007's inability to run under Windows 7. I purchased 2009 Complete a while back with the intent of migrating my data from 2007 Quantum to 2009 Complete. That's when I found out the data would not "Downgrade".

I thought I could work around that by exporting my Lists and Journals and then import them into a new company in 2009. The lists imported fine, but any import file with balances or amounts in them would not import. The import process would abort on the first data line after the column headers. I can't seem to fix that.

I've read that 2009 Complete isn't supposed to run on Windows 7, but it installed and ran OK on my Windows 7 Professional 64-bit system.

Does anyone know a way I can get my data intact from 2007 Quantum into the "lesser" Complete version? Also, should I continue to operate 2009 under Windows 7 or is it advisable to "Upgrade" (there we go with that term again) to 2011?

Thanks for any help and suggestions.

You can export a sample transaction per Journal from both the old and the new. Be sure to include COLUMN HEADINGS in your Export and then lay one exported item per Journal under each other in the likes of Excel to determine the extra data columns that Quantum includes and are not found in Complete.

Features such a E-Mail in Peachtree 2009 will not work on Win7.
