When creating a sales order for an assembly, the maintain inventory screen shows the outstanding quantity on the SO, but does not show the individual componets for the top level SO as being allocated for buy the SO. CAn this be done? It seems pointless to view SO amounts if it does not filter down into the componets from the assembly.
Thanks, Chris

Since you have to use the build assemblies in task to create assemblies, how would you link it?

The top level has a pn and a bom associated with it. Is there not a way to use the associated bom that appears in the maintain inventory window to create a link between the main assembly and the componets? Building assemblies has a link from the top level pn and removes the componets from inventory, why then is it not able to use the top level to show the componets on sales orders?
Thanks

It could probably be done (from a db stand point) but I wonder if it would cause other problems in the program. Robert Walraven would likely have more insight into that. Have you went to www.peachtree.com and put it in as an enhancement? They say they are always looking for enhancement ideas and with all the enhancements in 2003 it seems more than just talk.
