Hello,
Our company is considering converting from PCA 13 Classic to Sage Peachtree 2011. However,
the data files between the two versions are not compatible. We would like to export
13 Classic data to CSV or some other format that 2011 will recognize. How can one go about doing this? I've called a couple of places but they want anywhere from $700-2400 to do this.
Thanks
Mike

To migrate your PCA data over to Peachtree Windows can be accomplished by qualified and well trained technicians. Data conversion between the two programs takes many physical hours and requires setup, configuration of the new program / company. Following the export / import process. The imported Chart of Accounts have to be mapped, along with Vendor, Customer, Employees, & Inventory (if applicable) defaults set. Sales Tax Records (do not export) and must be setup and matched up with the Customers records to match the original. Follwing the import and configuration, all account balances need to be verified against the source data. All in all, data migration / conversion is a major undertaking and is not for the faint of heart. The charges suggested are well in line with the amount of hours and expertise required.
If you consider the time and expense for your people to set up a new program and Company followed by entering your Chart of Accounts, your Customers, Vendors, Employees, Inventory, Job Cost, Sales Tax records, default setting plus beginning balances for all account, data entry verification, you will quickly determine that the fees that you have suggested are reasonable.
