Here's the error, "Peachtree caused an exception 10H in module PCHLIB32.DLL at 0177:1900c5c9"

I always (most of the time) get this error when I run a "Items sold to Customers" report.
I have been trying to track down this problem for a few months now. I believe it has to do with item stock availability, inactive item or something of that matter, but just can't get figured out.
Any ideas?

Thanks,
David

Exception 10h is an indication of needing to try an different driver to the same port.

What type of printer are you using (make and model)?

It's an HP Officejet v40

That is unfortunate that you use an officejet as I have never found a driver alternate for those all in one printers. Wish I could have been more help.

I, in turn, have never been able to find a solution for the all in ones, they are quite an anomoly to work with !!!!

Do all other reports print without getting an exception?

Is this a report you created or customized?

No, I'm not even printing. I'm just viewing the "Items sold to customers" report.
Sometimes I don't get the error. For instance, lets say i try to run a report for last weeks"items sold to customers" (this IS the only report that this happens to) and i get an error, I'll go through and run a report for each day to find out which day has the problem. So, say wednesday has a problem, i'll go through all the invoices and look for the one thats not entered correctly or something. I might find a problem and correct it and it will run throught the report fine but if I try to run it again might not work on a different day. This is very fustrating and i'm sure I or one of my employees have something to do with it, just can't figure it out.

I have been using Peachtree for about a year as a possibility of using it as my main accounting program, so untill i get all the bugs out it and me, I guess it will be just the secondary program.

Or I could read the manual.......

Thanks for the help!!

No, it's not a customized report, But (this is weird too) if I go to "Design" the report, It will always work no matter what day, week or month i choose.

I have the HP officejet 40 on a machine and have never had a problem printing Peachtree reports.

If it works in the design mode, have you tried opening the form in design mode and then saving it as a report with a new name. Perhaps the "new" report will work properly.

I do not use the inventory module so I do not have any direct experience. When you look for invoices causing an error, can you invoice an item that is not in inventory?

1) Do a find for exception 10H on the internet and you will find it seems to always be associated with an HP printer.

2) Even though you are viewing the report, it still pulls the information through the print driver. In the dinosaur days we called it Print to Screen.

3) Each set of data is different, there for the information you are pulling through the driver is different. This is why some may pull the report with the same printer and not receive errors while others may.

4) My professional opinion is the all-in-one printers are not worth the problems you can have and not just with Peachtree (read as Front Page). Most do not even support DOS printing, which some older programs still use (like some of the older tax programs). Not to mention redirection to different ports seem to have odd effects at different times.

5) If you had to do five different jobs in the same week you would have a problem doing any of them well :-)
