We are trying to close one fiscal year to start the next but the process fails at every attempt. I can get the back-up to run, it starts the close process, but fails shortly after it starts. It indicates a system failure code 59, and only suggests contacting tech support. We have not had this problem before - we are using premium 2006. We will be upgrading within the next few months, but I need to get this rolled to a new year to continue to operate until we upgrade.

I have tried data verification and get no errors. I have restored and rerun the yearend wizard a few times. My last hope is running - I set up a new company and restored my backup to it and am trying to close using that. It is running now, so we will see. If this doesn't work, what else can I do?

Try closing it from a copy of the data residing on your local workstations -- as opposed to accessing the data across the network.

If that fails also, you probably have a latent data corruption issue in one of your files and would need to get your file repaired (http://peachtreeusers.com/datarepair.htm). Give us a call at 1-800-999-9209 if we can help.

Should the Year End Wizard be run at the server or at a workstation?
