rename pay types

dear experts,
i've encountered a problem & need some help. trying to rename pay types & have entered various combinations but keep getting error "when naming a pay type name must start with a letter be at least 2 characters long, & it cannot have spaces or special characters. please rename this pay type." the other fields that i originally entered a few years ago don't follow any of these rules but....... really need a solution asap - need to push payroll out the door tomorrow - sorry for such short notice - any suggestions/solutions would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance -

What are the names of all your pay types? This would be the pay type, EE and ER fields. It could be a different field that was named prior to this restriction being put in the program.
