Voiding an invoice

Greetings

What is the proper way to void an invoice in peachtree release 8.0? A customer ordered some goods, then changed his mine. Should you just call up the invoice and delete it?

I can't remember at which version they made it easy to void an invoice but even before that, for recordkeeping purposes, I always made a manual void invoice. This works best because sometimes the void doesn't occur in the same month and this can affect financial statements, sales tax payments, etc....
