I am the only admin support for a small (2 man) corp. and need help to "do it all."
1) I converted company data into Peachtree. All the inventory came in as Stock items (1400 items) Most of these are Non-Stock Items. Is there a way to access the database part of peachtree to reassign all of the items, without doing one at a time through Inventory Maintaince?

2) Is there a web site that gives good free accounting/booking information. Or can you suggest a good accounting/bookkeeping book. I took accounting, but that was years ago. The business's accountant doesn't know Peachtree and wants me to handle the day to day bookkeeping and monthly closings. He says as a former engineer I should be able to handle it. Also it is getting expensive to ask those dumb questions about what to post where. I am signed up for a course, but that isn't until September. Any suggestions?

3) I send a free sample kit (set up as an assembly) and want the items & cost to list on the invoice. I can get the items to print on the invoice, but when I add the price to the bill of materials description, it doesn't stay when I save & close. THis happens even when I start from scratch. Do I have to create a new ID for each of these with the price in the description?

1) When an inventory is set-up as a stock item it will not allow you to edit it to be non-stock, even one at a time. There is a service on the peachtree users site about fixing corrupt data. I wonder if they could help. Anyone had any experience with it?

2)There is an accounting primer within Peachtree Help that might be pretty useful. Go to Help - Contents - Contents Tab - Reference - Accounting Primer. I am a CPA and very experienced with Peachtree. I would be happy to answer some questions through the forum. Let me know if you want to do this. Perhaps we could begin a thread titled Basis Accounting Questions or something so others could benefit.

3) Everything in the Bill of Materials is set in stone once it is saved the first time, even the description. Could you use a quote to give your customer the pricing?
