Running Sage Peachtree Premium Accounting 2012 - on one of the workstations it keeps saying that there is an update available but when I click on it the screen comes up blank. I check the server and there are not current updates available. Is there a way to get rid of this message?

Seemingly, the Peachtree program has installed the update but the Windows Registry has failed to record the same update. This can happen when the user does not have Administrator Rights to Windows when the update installed.

We have had this happen before too. I had to perform a System Restore on the offending computer, going back to a restore point sometime before the problem started. Then I set the Anti-Virus software to allow the update, made sure I had administrative status, opened Peachtree, and had it check for updates. When it said there was an update available, I downloaded it and install it, and that worked. Of course, then I also had to check for updates for other important software on the computer, including Windows.

I can't perform a system restore because I dont remember when I started to receive this message. Is there another way around this?

It is simply too dangerous to attempt to describe how you would need to adjust the specific Windows Registry Key to correct this problem. So the alternative would be to suggest that you backup your Peachtree databases (all Companies) to an alternative media (i.e. Thumb Drive or CD or an external HD) and then Uninstall Peachtree program. Then re-install the same program, followed by downloading and installing the most current SR related to your version. This will force a re-write of the appropriate Windows Keys.
