I am getting a system error #5 when I try to do an inventory query in PT Classic v11 running on an NT network with a Win 98 client. It is also running very slow.

Can anyone tell me what could be causing this?

Try running Recover Data on your inventory files. Report back as to whether this helps. If not we can go from there.

Thank you for your reply.

I should have stated that this only happens on 1 of the 7 machines accessing Peachtree so I don't believe that Recovering the Data will work. We have done a recover for other reasons a time or 2 in the past and it has not helped.

I have also checked the config.sys settings and have found know problems there.

Check your autoexec.bat for SET OVERLAY_HEAP=1 , it should be the first line.

I have a 5 client network running v12 classic on windows2000 and 2 out of the 5 that process the payroll get system error 5 quite frequently. I used the peachtree FAQ and put all the required information in config.nt and autoexec.nt
1 out of the 2 complains that her peachtree is rather slow until she reboots her computer a couple of times and then peachtree speeds up?

Any recommendations as to what I should look for?
