We recently upgrade from dos v11 to peachtree complete 2003. I am having trouble with the GL distribution of Cost in invoicing. I have set my default GL accounts in inventory for cost of service parts and sales of service parts however, we also sell Over the counter , this is a completely seperate cost and sale GL account. in dos we type a letter code and the GL distribution was made how do I, without resetting my inventory everytime get my cost to go to the correct GL account. not everyone here who does invoicing will remember to check their cost accounts.

In many respects the change from PCA TO PCW is not always considered an upgrade and this would be one of them. There is no way to directly duplicate in PCW what you were accomplishing in PCA. Maybe another member can suggest a workaround.

Good Luck ;)

I have already keyed in a month of data, if we decide to go back to PCA could we transport from PCW to v13?

Our company also made the same move two years ago (from PCA DOS to PCW 7). Our setup is also similar with your scenario. Our manufacturing area uses the same inventory as with the retail section.

The work around that we did is to use sub-accounts. This solves some but again brings us to a problem to retrain users with the new account numbers.

I miss the DOS version of PCA so much that I'm tempted to create a new setup for 2003 company books. Lots of options in there that I cannot find any more on the newer release.

There is no conversion, but you could convert your PCA v11 data to v13 (if you still have it) and re key what you have already entered.

We unfortunatly lost all our data, due to back up failure and bad hard drive.

We may have no choice but to rekey yet again.
