PTW 8.0 -"Company already in use" error

I am attempting to help out a colleague who is running PTW Complete 8.0, and states that her computer (W98 SE) locked up on her while opening a company and now she gets the above error when she attempts to open the company.
I am not proficient with PTW, not even vaguely familiar with it, and she just upgraded from a much older version and W3.1.
I would greatly appreciate replies being directed to me at "rcaswell@ci.opelika.al.us", as well as this forum, as I am at work and will not be able to keep an eye out for a reply in here.

1. Delete the lock (*.lck) files in the company folder
2. Check the config.sys for FILES=125
3. Shut down the computer
4. Restart computer
5. Try to open company again
