ugrading to PT Complete 2003

I have recieved my PT Complete Accounting 2003, and want to upgrade my 2002. I also have a new computer arriving next week. What is the proper way to handle the upgrade? Install 2003 on my old system then dump it all to the new computer, or install the 2003 as a new program on my new computer and transfer my data? Also when would it be appropriate to close my 2001 year, before or after upgrade? I still need access to those figures til after 12/14/02.

I'm going to bet that the new computer will be much faster than the old computer. Wait and install 2003 on the new computer. Once you install 2003, create a new company through choice on the File menu. Restore your 2002 company over this, and let Peachtree go through the conversion process. Now, back up this company to a PTB file, then change the name to something like "2001 Company" via Maintain, Company infomation. Create a second new company, the restore the PTB file you just created over this company. Close this fiscal year at this point. To see the 2001 company, choose File, Open Company and select 2001 Company. Open your live company again when you're done looking at 2001.
