delete multiple g/l accts

I am creating a new company via export/import in PT2003. When I imported the (ton of) g/l accounts about 30% of their formats were changed in PT!?!? Instead of 4000-01-40, I got 01/40/4000. I have now manged to get all the accounts imported correctly but have a bunch of the incorrect, date-like, accounts to get rid of somehow.

Is there anyway to delete them all at once instead of individually?

If you haven't started entering transactions, you may be able to export your chart, delete the chart.dat file, let Peachtree create a new, blank one when you open the company again, then import. On the formas, it looks to me that you opened the files in Excel, which thought they were dates and tried to be helpful by changing the format. It's always best to open import files in Notepad before running them into Peachtree if you're working with untested files.

If you've already started entering transactions, you're relegated to deleting them one at a time. Alternatively, you can export them to Excel, change the Inactive flag to True, then hide inactives in Peachtree. The purge function then lets you purge inactive items.
