We are using PCA 2002. We use two different account numbers for our rental inventory. One is for Acquired Rental Inventory (rental equipment purchased in the current year), and one is called Rentall Inventory (for all rental equipment purchased in prior years). At the end of each year, we've been doing a journal entry to transfer the $s from the Acquired Rental Inventory account to the Rental Inventory account. However, I now realize that, while the $ value of the account has been transferred, the rental items are still showing up in Peachtree as being in the Acquired Rental Inventory account, instead of the Rental Inventory account. So I'd like to have the individual items properly reflected in Rental Inventory, instead of Acquired Rental Inventory, but am not sure how best to accomplish this. How does one go about transferring items from one inventory account to another, without affecting the $ value of the two accounts?
