I just upgraded to PCA 2003 after using Peachtree for many years. Have been unable to delete 4 old accounts that have not been used in quite a few years (definitely more than two). There are no prior balances. When I try to delete, I get the message: "Can not delete this account because there is a journal entry that uses that account." This is absolutely not true. Two of them were old cash accounts at a different institution than we now use. The other two are liability accounts that have been inactive for several years. I've already used the "search feature" on this site without any luck. Any ideas??

Just because an account has been inactive for a few years doesn't mean that there are not old references that use it. Normally Peachtree does not display data that is before the previous year, but if you go, for example, to the Sales/Invoicing form, click Open, and select Show:All Transactions (at the top of the list), you will see all the transactions that Peachtree has stored in its database. These typically go back to when you started your company.
You can try purging the old data but this doesn't always delete older records.
