Hello,
I have a customer with Peachtree 2003 that seeks to integrate a variety of additional functions into their system and interface to these add-ons in real-time via wireless (RF) terminals. They lack any Inventory Control capabilities at this time and so their goal is to begin by tracking all shipping and receiving transactions and interfacing to this "system" via RF.
They eventually would like to control all Warehouse operations and customer ordering and via the Peachtree or add-on system.
Any information you could provide would be helpful.
Thanks,
Marka

TWagner - Although Peachtree is a good program just like anything else there are better ones out there. Giving thought to the final outcome and efficiency needed I would have to give second thought to using Peachtree with RF integration. Not that Peachtree will not be able to handle it BUT it will require from my understanding a lot of custom integration to accomplish this. I would first look at my budget and the limitations of Peachtree saying that maybe the company may hit limitations in Peachtree before any warehousing system they select to integrate with it. If you are going to invest in a warehouse managment system I think I would invest in a more sophisticated business application than peachtree to handle th inventory etc. I would hate to see the money invested just to find i would have to upgrade my business application so soon after going live or even half way into the project and then finding out Peachtree wwon't handle what you want it to do. The company that I work with uses a much more powerful business aplication than Peachtree with a WMS RF integration. because of their size warehouse, their yearly dollar volume and their case and flow pick requirements, shipping and receiving requirements and production, they would not even be able to concider using Peachtree as the business application software. Their WMS would blow it away and severely limit their use of their WMS and not allow them to use all functions of the WMS. I know the WMS system this company is using and I know Peachtree and I strongly believe that the WMS would blow away Peachtree in this setup. Even if they did not use the WMS because of all the extra needs in the way of Extending Pricing, BOM's, Split commissions etc etc etc there would be no way that Peachtree could handle this business.
Just MHO.
