Shopping Carts

Anyone have any advice on the best online shopping cart to use that is integrated with Peachtree? And...how well is it integrated (how much detail is passed to Peachtree)?

Just something for thought. I have been a reseller for 2 shopping carts and have used an outside billing program for years, both with peachtree and with another accounting program. What I have found is that if I tie my billing and G/L accounting program together too closely with my G/L, or any other program for that matter, I cannot easily change a software vendor without restructuring my whole accounting system. If you use the shopping cart to bill your customers, get a summary report out of your shopping cart and generate your G/L entries from that. Then you can change your shopping cart without worrying about your G/L if you feel the need. Just a little information on shopping carts - most of these companies aren't terribly financially stable so you might want to be careful which software you use. I was a reseller for Actinic and about a year ago they decided to drop support for their product in the US. Needless to say I'm not going to recommend their product. I can recommend MIVA as a shopping cart although it does not integrate into any accounting program. As far as I know there is not a shopping cart that integrates into any accounting software. However be aware that I'm not familiar with every shopping cart out there.

I agree about Miva Merchant being a great shopping cart. I've been using it on my site for a while now, and have been quite happy with it. Miva Merchant doesn't offer direct support for Peachtree, but there is a third party product called Stone Edge Order Manager that can be configured to work with Peachtree. Miva Merchant is very flexible, and with a little effort, can be made to interface with Peachtree, through the use of PawCOM (http://www.acctadv.com/pawcom).
