Has anyone experienced horrendous lag issues with PC Anywhere when running PCA2k3? I have remote users that have to PCanywhere in the use books that we store on our servers and the lack of speed is killing us.
On a side note, is Terminal Services a possibility for PCA2k3 use and if so, would it be faster than PCAnywhere?
Thanks,
Chris

In my experience Peachtree 2003 works great with pcAnywhere if you have a cable modem or DSL on both ends. If you're dialing up, it's pretty much unbearable.
Peachtree's official policy is that they don't support Terminal Server use with their software. However, if you search the archives, you'll find where issues and solutions have been discussed in the past.

Actually terminal services use with release 2003 and above is a violation of the license agreement. If you use remote access with Peachtree I hope you do not have any connection issues. The biggest horror stories I heard from users were those that had problems with remote access and Peachtree.

I recently set up a VPN tunnel to my PT data so that I could work from home. Largely did it just to prove I could, but the data transfer speed was not bad at all.
Used PKsoft's client on my machine at home, and a Netgear VPN router at the office. It worked suprisingly well. BUT, was concerned that a "Horror story" as TheWolf put it could indeed be possible. Safer to remote control a machine that's on the local network.
We used to use PCAnywhere fairly regularly - indeed, without cable/dsl or better, it can be very slow. Try setting all options for color, resolution and frame rate to the "fastest" options.
Also, you definately want to try "Remote Administrator" or "Radmin" - which we use now. www.radmin.com It kicks butt speed-wise and does everything that PCAnywhere does for less money ($35 per seat). Hands down the fastest remote client I've seen. Even workable over dial-up.
You can download free-trial at the site.
Good luck!
