I have a client running a property management company. This company has 45 different companies in Peachtree Complete 2003. They cannot access or do general ledger reports for the year 2001 in any of the companies. The data is accurate and all the companies work fine.
I have tried all the tricks I know...even using Data Verification under the File menu.
Any ideas or suggestions?

Is 2001 still open? Peachtree only allows two fiscal years to be open. If you are in 2003 and have 2002 open also, 2001 is closed and ledger reports are not available.

Yes...2001 is closed. On all the companies I believe. So are you saying there is no way to view general ledger reports?
The only way I have been able to get it to work is to use an old backup...restore the companies and rename them..such as EXAMPLECOMPANY would be renamed to EXAMPLECOMPANY2001. Now they would have both...EXAMPLECOMPANY and EXAMPLECOMPANY2001 in their PEACHW folder.
They don't need to edit or change anything..but for some reason this guy wants access to those reports. If this is all I can do, I will have to restore and rename 45 times.
They have given me the ok to do this and they know it will take a lot of billable hours.
I just wanted to make sure this was not a problem I should be taking care of. You have me feeling that this is just not a possiblity due to software limitations. Am I correct?

No problem, the software is performing as designed.

Ok..so it is a limitation.
