When I try to backup Peachtree on another computer, the first floppy receives the data. The second floppy does not work and I get the message that the floppy contains backup files. I have formatted these diskettes but only the first one works correctly. I have formatted using the quick format and also the complete format. I appreciate any help because I really need to backup this company.

It sounds like you haven't removed all the existing files from your diskette first so there's not enough room for the backup you're trying to create. Use Windows Explorer to look at each diskette, and send all the old files on the diskettes to the Recycle Bin. Then start the backup in Peachtree.

The diskettes were formatted and showed no files. The problem is either in the hardware or software. This is the only computer on which I have this problem. The backups work beautifully on all of the other computer that I back up. The computer is on a network with one other computer but the other computer was closed down and I tried to back up the main computer. Could it be the access rights or file attributes on the data.

Honestly I am a little confused as to what your problem is. I understand the fact that the diskett is not receiving the backup data file but why would you be backing up each computer when the computers are networked together. Unless I do not understand what you are really trying to accomplish.
What I do with our P2P network is that I backup the data files to the computer that has the database on it directly to the harddrive instead of to floppies. This writes at a much faster speed. Then i take the backupfile and write that to a CD-RW. This is how I backup all files on our system. Writing files to the harddrive and then writing the files to a CD-RW. This allows to users to go back to work much faster than waiting for the CD-RW to write it's files.

We noticed the answers you recieved were not too relevent to your problem. We are now having the exact same problem that you had. Did you ever figure it out because we would love to know.
Thanks

If only one computer is giving you the problem it will be isolated to just that computer. EXACT error messages you receive, the type of Operating System, type of network (if any) as well as the exact release of Peachtree is often needed to assist with problems like this. Give more info and I will try to answer.

The operating system is Windows NT 4.0. The version of peachtree is complete accounting 2002. This computer is a stand alone system with no network connection. I have backed it up to floppies before and have had no problems. It was just this last time when I got to disk 2 it gave the error message. I have tried several things and have ruled out that the disks are the problem.
