moving company to new computer

We run Peachtree First Accounting 7.0 and love it. However, our old computer bit the dust and we have purchased a replacement. I have installed the 7.0 application on the new computer. My dilemma is how to load our company information and files on to the new computer so when I click on "open company" I can select ours rather than the demo model. Thanks, Teresa

On your new computer, go through the new company setup to set up your company: just enter the company name and State abbreviation. For chart of accounts, select to build your own. Accept the rest of the defaults.

Once the new company is created, restore your backup to the new company.

Is your old computer still working? If so identify the company sub directory under the c:\peachw directory and do a copy and paste.

When you do a copy and paste of the whole directory, the company information comes over too. You are copying a working copy of the company data/directory.

I hope I didn't misunderstand your question.
