I have a client using Peachtree 7. He has backed up his data (on 2 floppy disks). I'm attempting to restore it. When I select "restore" in Peachtree, it looks in the floppy drive and finds the file (with a "ptb" extension). When I click on 'open', it prompts me to insert the last disk of the set (there are only 2 disks). When I put the 2nd disk in, I get the following error message: "The file you have selected is not a valid Peachtree backup file. Please select another file" The file on the 2nd disk is a "ptb" file as well. Any ideas? I believe that we have the same version of Peachtree.

Peachtree uses PKZIP files for the backup. You can rename the .ptb extension to .zip (or copy the disks which is safer). Then you can use PKZIP or WinZIP to look at the files. These programs will give you detailed information if there is something wrong with the files.
