Up to now I haven't heard any of our clients running Peachtree on Linux platform. Sorry.

Ran the wine install (see codeweavers site for the latest download) this seemed to go fine.
But I ran out of time to go further and been busy lately.
Anyway the office had been running it off the server for about a year.
The only reason I am at this site now is due to a report problem they where having before that time.
Anyway Samba2.2 (the smb protocol for windows network sharing) had passed certification for database style apps. And seems to offer alot for small or large companies.
Let me know is you need help.
And let me know how wine goes.

I gave sucessfully gotten older versions of Quick Books Running on Wine. I am a big fan of Linux, but do not feel yet that wine is stable enough for a production enviroment, where $ are at stake.

I would reccommend either VMWare which runs a complete win98 virtual machine or Win4Lin, both are commercial, but have a lot more stability and polish.
VMWare express might fit the bill. You need a decent amount of ram for it to run right, but it will do the job..

if you want to run peachtree on a linux client, try crossover office from codeweavers. install crossover office, then internet explorer 6, then try installing peachtree. the last time i tried, i had a problem with the .chm files (help files). recently i came across an article, where it is possible to extract out certain type of files (like .chm) from installation files, but have not had a chance to try it out. anyway, if you have managed to overcome that problem, then be prepared to have problems with cups printing.

i have got a client who runs the data on a linux machine. need to install wine / crossover office / internet explorer on the server machine, as well. not much problems there.
