New to Peachtree and accounting novice. Setting up new company chart of accounts. I have established our beginning balance in the Chart of Accounts as of 1/1/03 under "checking account". I would like to begin entering individual deposits/withdrawal activity for our checking account from 1/03 to the present. Can I do this now or do I have to continue w/the Chart of Accounts more general entries? If I can do this, where do I start? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

You can enter your transactions through Tasks, Payments and Tasks, Receipts.

If you are really new to all this, you might do well to find a Peachtree consultant in your area to give you a couple hours of training to get headed in the right direction. You can save yourself a lot of headaches later if you do it right the first time.
