Oh God IO Errors again...Please HELP

Dear friends

We are using Peachtree 2003 and the system runnung very well with no problem, we backup each day and suddently IO error found on chart.dat

Any idea on this problem and how to solve it, Is this cause by Peachtree or Hardware, waht is the OS recommendation, we are using Windows 98 as server and workstation.

Will this been improve or solve when we are using Windows XP or Windows 2000.

It's good that you backup every day....restore yesterday's backup and proceed forward. If your backups are corrupt, you can get your data repaired (http://peachtreeusers.com/datarepair.htm).

Yes, it would probably help to upgrade your computers OS to either Windows 2000 or Windows XP Pro (not the Home version). Make sure all your computers are plugged into uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) too.
