Accounts Type

Since Peachtree is moving toward manufacturing and distribution module, the chart of account & type need to be more flexible.

For example, for manufacturing module, the manufacturing account type is a must for "Manufacturing Account". If we still use cost od sales as type. there will be a lots of problem when customising accounts.

Anyone have any idea how to add in this into Chart.dat or any alternative way to do it.

We need to create:

Manufacturing Account
(To show all manufacturing cost and expenses)

P & L Accounts
(For sales income and administration expenses)

Your manufacturing costs and expenses are going become the value of your inventory, an asset account. I haven't looked at the Peachtree manufacturing to see how it handles it, but there must be some mechanism for funneling the manufacturing costs into the value of the product.
