I installed a new pc on the network, and loaded Peachtree 5.0 for Windows on the workstation. It looks like there is a network install also, and the data is shared on the network drive.

The person that installed peachtree locally, did not do a network install.

When the user launches PeachTree it no longer automatically loads the default company.

How can I change this??

Thanks!!!

I'm not using Peachtree 5, but I guest the idea is the same.

To change the default datapath, go to your windows directory like c:\windows and look for the ini file of Peachtree, something like pxx50.ini.

Then find the statement for DATAPATH and change it to something like below:

DATAPATH=p:\data

where p is the drive you map to the network sharefolder with Peachtree installed to the directory "data."

Make sure that the datapath holds the data files of Peachtree. Company folders will be a subfolder under p:\data.
