Version 6 Account Reconcilation Problem

When I go into Account Reconcilation to balance the checkbook I get the following error:

7000 is not a legal general ledger account

There is no 7000 account number in the chart of accounts.

I have tried to repair and reinstall the software. I have also done an integrity check - all at the advice of Tech Support for Peachtree.

Does anyone have any ideas?

okay debbie i have been doing tech support for along time and NEVER heard of this but i am going to take a shot in the dark. verify that ALL of your vendors and customers have a good chart of account number in their maintain areas. you can check this by printing a simple report with just the cust/vendor name and default gl account number for revenue or expenses. please email me if you get anywhere at salkay@aol.com
