Peachtree 7.0

I am relatively new to Peachtree and need your help. I am getting the error message l/0 error in C/peachw/randent/Journal.DAT. Error reading or writing to the file. I have used scan disc and no bad sectors were found. I cannot do anything at this point in peachtree. We are a very small company and it is vital that I can access and use Peachtree.

Any help and or suggestions are welcome

Peachtree will tell you that if you haven't install 7.03 service pack, you can't repair the JOURNAL.dat. However, you can try export the data if you want to save them instead of using the backup copy. ( it might save you some effort ) The software PAWCOM from multiware may help.

Ensure that after restore, apply 7.03 and the registry update. If you're sharing Peachtree with other workstations, ensure the network hardware ok, as well as the machines. Machine hangs or network problems can corrupt Peachtree data files.

Backup regularly.
