Verification of Data

Is there a utility to verify the data for a company? We've had a few problems w/ a rouge workstation (actually the network cable!) and we just had to restore from a backup due to an "Unable to determine security privileges. Please retry later. This is probably due to another user temporarily blocking access to critical files." error message.

We rebooted the server and all workstations and still received it, so I'm guessing there's some data corruption -- thus the restore.

But I'd like to run some sort of check on the data to determine if it's corrupted somewhere so we don't get this error again!

If you are version 9 (or 2002), you can go into File/Data Verification and run the Data Access test. This will tell you if the WORKSTATION is able to read/write to data files. If you are using version 8 - there is no way to verify the integrity of your data until you start working in it.
