actual date / time stamp

Is there a way to see the actual date/time stamp of when an entry was made. For example, it may be posted on the Ledger as of Jan 31, but the actual entry may not have been made until the middle of March, more than 6 weeks later.

In this scenarion I would like to see the actual middle of March date.

Does this information show up in an export of the entry that I can then open in Excel? How about a backup?

Any other suggestions.

Take a look at the Audit Trail feature, which is documented in the online help file.

I have a similar problem.
If I have not had the audit trail turned on - because I didn't know about it - my fault - then how can I prove that a transaction was really posted on the posted date? This is important because I have to prove that a cheque was really raised on a given day.
