I have two users using Peachtree Complete, but they are unable to share data to due the fact that one is a network install and the other a local install. When I copied the local peachw directory onto the network, the user got most of the data but not all. What am I missing?

You should be able to load the software on the local machine and reference the network data path. Do a network install

How can I export or share peachtree files among two workstations? I have a working peachtree install on one machine and I need to be able to access that data from a secondary workstation.

If its on the same network you need to map to the working install from the second computer. then you can install p'tree as a network install

Make sure that you change the ini file of the machine acting as client the path should read x:\peachw (where x= the name of the logical drive you created).

The network is not giving you permission to use the file 'C:\peachw\options.dat'. Talk to your network supervisor
I have checked the permissions and I can open the file locally but peachtree still gives me that error is there something else I need to change?

Windows 2000 Server SP 4
Peachtree datafiles shared on the server
Peachtree locally installed on workstation with the problem
copied the local peachw directory to the server so that the data would be centraly located.
2000 workstation that works correctly was originally pointing to the network.
XP workstation with problem was originally pointing to the local hd

To Carl and all reading this:
Peachtree should be loaded on each workstation and preferably the data is on the server (where p'tree would not typically be run) 2000 & xp pro are going to require that you have administrator rights to install. p'tree should not be copied from one location to another, but installed so that the pcw.ini is created and the registry is updated. The data should not reside on the root (x:\) but a subdirectory (x:\peachw). I believe that is why p'tree creates the company subdirectory by default now. Too many network experts load to the root.
