I'm putting the information for the last 3 months payroll checks in beginning balances. This is causing checks after beginning balances to input medicare and SS withholdings as "0". Idea any why this is happening? Is there a way to get around this?

The only reason I can think of is that limits have been reached. I usually recommend entering BB as a single entry in the BB section, as of the last paycheck.

I tried that and had the same result.
I played around a little bit and I wonder if beginning balances are above a certain amount that it causes SS and Medicare not to be withheld when running payroll after the fact. It still doesn't make sense to me why this is happening. Beginning Balances shouldn't affect payroll this way.

By the way, this is only happening with out salary employees... not our hourly. Any ideas?

Medicare has no ceiling so it should always be deducted. Perhaps there is a formula or set-up error.
