Changing an assy item bill of mat'l

We are a small job shop manufacturer and we have customers that have us do small sample runs of parts and assy's. Then when approved they will start ordering production run qty's. For the sample runs we provide and do everything in house. So I will set up a bill of material showing material and parts used. But when the production runs start we may job out some of the work, so where I had just a qty of material used in the bill of materail now needs to be change to an ordered part. How do I change the bill of material for my existing assy that has been used on an invoice already. My customers don't want to see a different part number from me for the same item they ordered in a sample run. Thank you in advance for your help

We, too, are a manufacturing company. Peachtree has told us numerous times that a BOM cannot be changed. Our only way of getting around this was to create a new BOM with a different sufffix added. i.e. 111111/FG1, 111111/FG2. A pain, yes, but functional.

Hi, I was wondering if you have any kind of sample company with no confidential info, that has the phase codes and other items setup so I can see how to setup our job shop/sheet metal shop? Previously I only owned a distribution company, now the accounting method has gotten more detailed and I am trying to setup an electronic method instead of their old manual method.
