Change Accounting Period ver.8.02

When changing accounting period "all transactions
must be posted" yes is selected to post. Error "
Access Denied for file '....\CHART.DAT'. You only
have read access to this file, no updates allowed"
Peachtree hangs at Now Posting The General Journal

Passwords were setup then removed because it would not allow DDE to work.

Is running in batch mode cannot change to real time get same error.
There appears to be nothing to post. Any help would be appreciated.
Also are the support plans worth the money?

The error message you received: Access Denied for file '....\CHART.DAT' when you try to post is referring to the attributes of the file or your rights:

1. Check the file attributes on the data files
Right click on a file, i.e., chart.dat, and select properties.
If the file attributes are marked as read-only, select "archive" instead. You may have to do this for all data files (*.dat).

2. Check your network rights. You should have "Full Access" rights to all of Peachtree.
