Reconciliation and check registers

I am a new user and am used to more user friendly programs..(or should I say more dummy-proof programs :) ... How do I do account reconciliation and is there a basic check register in the program. I'm having trouble finding it. Thanks if you can help me.

There isn't one in PTree.

Under "tasks", there is an "account reconciliation" program to reconcile bank accounts.

did you look at "reports">"accounts payable">"check register"?

Choose Reports, Account Reconciliation, Account Register.
