I have a customer who recently upgraded to Complete 2002 (rel 9.0.01.027) who is having problems with importing items into their inventory.
This customer uses Excel to manage their item pricing. In Excel, they have a mac ro programmed that generates a CSV file to be imported into Peachtree Complete. The following is the format of this file (one CR delimited line per record)
Item ID,
Item Description,
Description for Sales,
Description for Purchases,
Vendor ID,
Unit of MEasure,
Last Unit Cost,
Sales Price 1
G/L Sales Account,
G/L Inventory Account,
G/L COGS/Salary Acct
This has worked fine for previous versions. Once they updated to the above version, they started having difficulties. On attempting to import a a test file (which BTW had worked with the previous version) they recieved the following error message on teh screen:
An error occured importing the file C:\DataImport.csv
This happened on:
Line Number: 1
Field Name: Vendor ID
This error is posted for each record in the import file.
As noted, for the test I performed, a file was used which was previously successfully imported into a previous version.
I verified that the Vendor ID in the test file matched an existing one in the system. OK.
I next manually removed this field from my import file, updated the description of my import file in Peachtree and tried again. This time the file import seemed to work.
At this point, I assumed that there was a problem importing Vendor IDs into the Inventory list in the latest version. My customer could live with this change.
On further testing we found another anomaly. If a inventory record was imported that was new to the system, all fields would be createed appropriately. If the record being imported already existed, then the 3 GL field would NOT import correctly from the file. Instead, they would be set to the system default GL accounts.
Hmmmm.....
At this point I am assuming that I have found a bug in the new version. Now my questions:
1. Has anyone else seen the problem noted with the import of Vendor ID into the Inventory list?
2. If so (re. question 1), is there a fix/workaround to this issue?
3. Has anyone else seen the problem noted with the import of existing records into the Inventory list where the GL fields are hosed?
4. If so (re. question 3), is there a fix/workaround to this issue?
Thank you in advance for all replies!
