View Full Version : Sportsbook

Hi everyone. I just got my PeachTree 2005 Premiun and I'm trying to do the setup.
As the company I work for is an online Sportsbook, using one of the "standard" chart of accounts the program offers is a bit difficult, and building all the chart from scratch would be quite time-consuming.

Anybody knows of a link where I could get assistance for this ?

Thanks a bunch

The problem is: what is the chart of accounts for Sportsbook? If it makes it easier, choose a sample company, export the chart of accounts to excel, and you may find it easier to edit.

Thanks for your quick reply. Well you know, the problem is not so much the chart of accounts, since I took a "financial company" model, and am adapting it.

My problem is more in the sense of the accounting structure of the Balance Sheet; since we obviously don't "produce " anything, I'm considering as "sales" total company wins and cost of sales customer wins plus several kinds of direct fees.

The Income statement structure is quite clear, but in the Balance Sheet, what should I consider as source of funds:

Customers initial balances + net customers accounts movements+
net earnings for current period + retained earnings + Owners contribution?

Should the financial equilibrium be :

Customers initial balances + net customers accounts movements<
total balance in cash accounts ?

I'd appreciate some help here, since this accounting is not something you learn in school !!

Thanks a lot

I'm not sure if you attracted the accountants with this posting. You might try mentioning the financial equation in the thread. Like "help setting up financials in gambling enterprise" or something like that...
