I do tech support for a company and am having issues getting our software to communicate with Peachtree. Here is the scenario:

PT2003 installed locally on c:\peachw
Data is on a mapped drive: e:\peachw
Single user install so no username\password

If the e:\peachw database is open, our software does not get the data. If I change to one of the demo PT databases on c:\peachw it works.

I have tried to change the pcw100.ini on the local machine to DATAPATH=E:\PEACHW and if I do that Peachtree does not open.

At this point I am stumped and am wondering if you can provide any additional information to get the DDE link to function in this setup.

Well I think I have it resolved already, sorry for the post.

It appears that possibly I'm missing Peachtree system files in the mapped E drive location.

Maybe this is due to a version difference between 2002 (which I found out is on the server location) and 2003 which is on the desktops.

So I'll have the end user copy or install 2003 into the e map location and see if it then works.
