I'm new here. This is a great resource given the quality of Peachtree support since ADP took them over.

My question is regarding backups of the Tax Tables. I moved my Peachtree 7.0 software to a new computer. My program is stored locally, and the data is stored on a network drive because that gets backed up every night. So I just pointed Peachtree on the the new computer to that network data. Everything appears to be there except the 7 years of changes I made to the global tax table. The company tax table is fine & up-to-date. The question is, what file holds the global tax table, and does it get saved in the PTB file somewhere?

Thanks for the help.

It is not backed up. It is in the subdirectory that contains the peachw.exe file

Oh well. I guess I'll recreate. So much for the utility of backups.

From reading other posts, it looks like I should create the new fomulas in the company tax table. Either that or separately back up the global tables.

Thank you for the response.

why not copy the sudirectory from your old machine first?

Thanks for the suggestion. I had a lot of that old laptop backed up, but unfortunately the PEACHW folder wasn't. I never included it in my laptop backups since I assumed that I could recover the software from the original CDs.

So I recreated the global table. Interestingly enough, now that I am storing the software locally and the data on the network, that global taxtable.dat is in the PEACHW folder on the network, so it is being backed up regularly.

Thanks again for the help.
