We have opened an office in Mexico City (our primary office in Dallas, TX) and want to use Peachtree tracking that business. We deal in U.S. Dollars and also in Mexican Pesos. My idea is to open 2 companies - one for dollars and one for pesos, then when it is time for monthly tax returns there the dollars can be hand-converted to pesos at the current exchange rate. This would alleviate the constant conversion of pesos to dollars and vice versa if we only used one currency.
Are there any of ya'll out there doing something similar-having a foreign branch and dealing in multiple currencies?
We invoice from Dallas to Mexico in Dollars and they invoice their customers in dollars, but the customer can pay in either dollars or pesos, so it get's kind of messy. We haven't even set anything up yet because I don't want to do it wrong.
