Can you limit a user's access to a level such that they can only enter quantity received on a receive po screen and not the description, cost, A/P account, G/L account, amount fields?

If so, how?

Thanks,

Dan

dbrew0 - no unfortunately you can not. I found this to be a problem also when I needed to lock certain users out of only portions of certain data entry screens. Macola, a program I used at my last job allowed you to lock the user out of any fields within a screen by dimming them. For example if you have someone in your inventory department who you only want to be able to change one field and let's say that is the custom field you have created for UPC code you could lock them out of every single field in Inventory to prevent them from making changes except for that one custom field for UPC codes. As a matter of fact you could not only do that but only make that field viewable by them. This way if you did not want them to know any information about your inventory as far as costing, on hand quatity etc this would be a great tool. Peachtree does not give you this ability. only the ability to limit, Read, Edit, Add etc which would hold true for the entire record not just fields within the record. So if you want the user to only receive goods in inventory thru purchase orders you would have to give them access to the entire record which would mean they can alter the purchase order and any part of the purchase order.
