We use a check with 2 stubs. We print the check and also print a copy of it... unfortunately this requires us to go back to the transaction to print the copy which takes twice as long than is we could simply print a check and it automatically print it twice for us. I haven't found an option to do this. Is there an option to print a check and the copy without having to take extra steps?

We do the same thing you do. How we do it may not be elegant, but it does accomplish the task without printing every check individually.

When the first check printing is complete, the system asks to if the run is ok and to post to the disbursements register. We answer no.

We then go through the check selection process again and print the checks on blank paper using the same beginning check number as the original. After the 2nd printing we answer yes to the question of weather to post, and the check register is created.

The caveat, of course, is that the second payment selection be exactly at the first.

This seems to work for us.

We just run photocopies of the checks.

I prefer my check 'copy' to be of the actual check, as details can be changed in the system and even if it is by accident, it is NOT what went out on the actual check.

Thanks for the ideas. Both good - but just as tedious as what we're doing so I guess we'll stick with our system. We simpley just print the check and then go back to the entry and print it again on the copy. If I had my own personal copy machine that wasn't also the office printer for from 15 employees I'd attempt to just copy all the checks once I'm done with them but I've had way too many documents printed on our checks etc. My system works because I have my own personal printer... although it's SLOW.

Thanks.

Have you considered checks with a NCR copy? That is what we use so that we have a copy and no double work needed.
