deleting a batch of accounts

Hi guys...there's this thing that's making me nuts....

I created a bunch of accounts for our sales reps:
14113 to 14400

I did this exporting the chart of accounts as CSV file, working in there , and then re-importing it

Ok...but then I thought it would be better if I could include the sales rep internal number in the acc ID

so I substitued the codes in the CSv file, adding an extra digit so they were:
141634 and so on.

When I re-import the CSV file, the new accounts get inscribed in the chart of accounts BUT IT DOESN"T SUBSTITUE THE OLD ONES....so I have the two sets of accounts.

How can I solve this...or how can I delete the whole batch of old accounts without going one by one ?

Since you seem to have a leg up on importing, you could import a file that sets the Inactive field for the accounts you don't want to True. You can then run the Purge Wizard or choose Options, Global, and Hide Inactive Items.

By the time I read your post, I had the accs. deleted one-by-one, already.
I'll investigate your suggestion, though
