I'm using PCA2002 and I need to display BOTH the Description for Purchases and Description for Sales in the supplied Purchase Order Form (which I modified).

I found out that what appears for Description for Sales is Description for Purchases. Thus, my form has TWO Description for Purchases. In other tasks, Description for Sales displays ok.

Could you confirm if this is a bug or if I am missing anything.

btw, actually, I use Description for Sales to store my suppliers' item codes. The supplied PO Form is short of fields I can use to store additional item info.

Thanks.

Joseph

gervic - I just tested the PO template for entering a PO. it seems that if there is no value in descp of purchase it will default to descrp of sales.

the templates for creating a data entry screen does not give you ability to change your descrp of purhcase to descrp of sales. but the template for creating a custom printed PO does give you the ability to print both the descp for sales and descp for purchase.. this way the printed po will show both if you so want it too.

Also you state you use descrp for sales to store your vendor's item number. You can also use a custom defined field in inventory for storing your vendor's item code. either way though when you enter the po it will only show descp for purchase. when you customize the po entry screen it only show you that descp is required and you can not change that.

Hello Mark.

Please let me explain more.

For lack of available data fields in the Purchase Order Form, I was forced to use the Descrip for Sales to store the supplier's item codes. I have already defined one item Custom Field as the supplier's item code. However, in the Purchase Order Form, this custom field (item code) is not available. So, instead, as a work-around, I tried to store the item code in Descrip for Sales.

As an example, try to store different info for the Descrip for Purchases and Descrip for Sales for an item. Then modify the standard Purchase Order Form to display both Descriptions. In my case, the Descrip for Purchases will display ok but the Descrip for Sales will not display what you entered for that item. Instead, it will display Descrip for Purchases again. This is why I consider this a bug. btw, Are both Descriptions separate fields and are not connected to each other?

As an alternative, how could you modify the Purchase Order Form to display the item description (any) and its supplier's product code. What field should I use to store the supplier's product code and will this be available in the Purchase Order Form?

Thank you very, very much.

Joseph
