Things were going great til I upgraded to
2005 prem.
My business is at a stand still with
i/o error varible lenght permission.dat
i/o error jrnl
i/o error employee
has anyone had errors like this?
Please help

This is data corruption. Have you done anything yet? You can download data checker from this site. Generally, peachtree will tell you these errors can't be fixed. They can't over the phone, but your data can be repaired. Send an email or call Shannon at the number on this site.

Thanks for such a quick response. I have tried integrity checks and reindexing in one of the companies I'm having problems with. Peachtree tech support suggested I try that. It worked for a day then the i/o error came back. This is just one of several problems I am having since my upgrade from 2004 Complete to 2005 Premium Accountants Edition. I followed you advise and emailed Shannon. I wasn't sure what phone number you were refering to as far as calling her.

You can download the free Data Checker here (http://peachtreeusers.com/datautility.htm). It can diagnose problems, but can't repair them.

It may be a network card problem. It should not be because of a software change. I've done hundreds of upgrades and I haven't seen that problem with this version. (Version 7.0 used to blow up, but not since then).
