I am expanding peachtree over a network from one PC to two. When I load the second PC it starts with version 8.0.01.26 which is not compatible with the files on the base PC (version 8.0.02.04). I found the update PCW802 and attempted to install it. Somewhere during the process, the update stops with an Error 36. Is says try running the update again and if it does not complete then contact Peachtree Support. Anyone know what Error 36 is or what to do to get around it? Thanks.

Error (36) when updating to 8.0.02 is caused by a version problem in your Internet Explorer (IE), to correct the error message follow the steps below.
*** IMPORTANT: Backup your company data and tailor-made forms first ***
1. Go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall Peachtree. IF on a network, everyone must be out of Peachtree.
2. Uninstall Peachtree completely. IMPORTANT: When prompted, choose YES to remove shared files from the computer.
Once uninstalled, reboot the computer.
3. Reinstall Internet Explorer 5 from the original Peachtree CD.
a. Place the Peachtree program CD in the CD-ROM drive
b. Go to Start, Programs, Windows Explorer.
c. Arrow down to the bottom left of screen and click on drive letter for CD-ROM. On the right locate ie5 folder and select.
d. Then double click ie5setup.
Even if you have IE5.5 installed, we need to install IE 5 from the CD! Choose minimal components when prompted. Do NOT repair IE 5. After reinstalling IE 5, reboot the computer.
4. Next, Reinstall 8.0 from the original CD.
IMPORTANT: After installing 8.0 again you must reboot! If you do not reboot, the patch may have problems.
5. After rebooting run the 8.0.02 patch again.
